Egypt: culture & experiences
Egypt's Red Sea coast offers excellent diving all year round, from relaxed day boats in Hurghada, Sharm el-Sheikh and Marsa Alam to liveaboards heading to the offshore reefs.
On land, we combine diving with the temples of Luxor and the Valley of the Kings, a Bedouin dinner under the Sinai stars, or a sunrise climb of Mount Sinai.
Off the beaten track
- Luxor, Karnak and the Valley of the Kings
- Sunrise on Mount Sinai and St Catherine's Monastery
- Bedouin dinner and desert camp
- Cairo and the Giza pyramids before or after the trip
Best-known dive spots
SS Thistlegorm
A WWII cargo ship still carrying motorbikes, trucks and locomotives. One of the most famous wreck dives in the world.
Ras Mohammed
Shark and Yolanda reefs: vertical walls, schooling fish in summer and strong, beautiful coral.
Brothers, Daedalus & Elphinstone
Offshore reefs for experienced divers, with hammerheads, grey reef sharks and oceanic whitetips.
Marsa Alam bays
Sea turtles and, with luck, a dugong grazing in the seagrass at Abu Dabbab.
