Spain: culture & experiences
Spain combines great food, lively towns and very good diving within short flights of most of Europe. The Mediterranean coast has some of the best-protected marine reserves in the region, while the Canary Islands offer volcanic diving all year.
We pair diving with tapas and wine routes, Gaudí's Barcelona, the medieval villages of the Costa Brava, or the volcanic landscapes of Lanzarote and El Hierro.
Off the beaten track
- Medieval villages of the Empordà and Dalí's Figueres
- Wine and tapas routes
- Timanfaya volcanic park on Lanzarote
- Stargazing on La Palma or El Hierro
Best-known dive spots
Medes Islands, Costa Brava
A marine reserve where large groupers, red coral, octopus and barracuda thrive in caves and tunnels.
Cabo de Palos, Murcia
One of the Mediterranean's richest reserves, with schools of barracuda, big groupers and historic wrecks.
El Hierro, Canary Islands
The Mar de las Calmas reserve: volcanic arches, angel sharks, rays and very clear water.
Balearic Islands
Posidonia meadows, caverns and calm bays around Mallorca and Menorca.
